This week at the farm:

Over 1,000 sunflowers were planted in the field.

Peonies ready to be picked for market.

Ever wonder why our Peony plants do not need to be staked?

We single stem them.  In other words we only allow one bloom per plant.  This does two things.  First, it decreases the weight on the stem and secondly, it forces the plant to concentrate it's energy on only one flower.

This is Skyphos Lettuce.

It is described as a butterhead variety with excellent taste and texture.  Not bad to look at either!

See you at the market!
