| Shunkyo Radishes waiting to be bunched. |
This week we are featuring the Shunkyo Semi-Long Radish. It is a specialty radish that originated in North China. They are an cylindrical radish with deep pink roots with white, crisp flesh. The taste is both hot and unusually sweet. The greens are also edible so don't toss them in compost pile! Food & Wine Magazine has a wonderful (and easy) recipe for Roasted Radishes with Radish Greens you may want to try.
In addition, we will be bringing the following items to market:
Baby Bright Lights Swiss Chard
Bright Lights Swiss Chard
Rainbow Lacinato Kale
Kim's Custom Salad Mix
Arugula
Salad Turnips
Shallots
Cippollini Onions
Tropea Onions
Garlic
Beautiful Flowers
Culinary and Medicinal Herbs and Teas
This week we are introducing three new tea blends:
Holy Trinity - Three varieties of Holy Basil: Rama, Krishna & Vana
Calendula Blend - Lavender, Calendula & Lemon Balm
French Tisane - Lemon Verbina, Peppermint & Lavender
Please note that all the herbs used for our teas are grown, chemical and pesticide free, at Blue Skys Farm in beautiful Cranston, Rhode Island. It doesn't get much more local than that!
Hope to see you at the market!
Farmer Kim
