Market - August 31st

Labor Day weekend is upon us and we are looking forward to seeing everyone at the market tomorrow.  We had a very good radish harvest this week so I will be providing you with some ideas of what to do with them.  We will also be selling Chilli Ristras.  (You may ask "what ARE Chilli Ristras?"  I had to ask by the way!).  They are chilli peppers that are strung together to hang for drying.  They are very colorful and make a wonderful addition to any kitchen.

Drying peppers intensifies their flavor in both heat and sweetness.  Once dried, you can use them in recipes or you can cut them into small pieces and have homemade hot pepper flakes.

We will also be bringing the following items to market:

Rhubard
Chioggia Beets
French Breakfast Radishes
Easter Egg Radishes
Tropia Onions
Kim's Custom Salad Mix
Rainbow Lacinato Kale
Fresh-Cut Parsley
Fresh-Cut Dill
Summer Squash
Bright Lights Swiss Chard
Garlic
BEAUTIFUL Flowers!
Medicinal and Culinary Herbs

Only eat radishes on salads?  Saveur magazine has a wonderful roundup of both raw and cooked recipe ideas for radishes.  Recipes include Radish Kimchi, Picked Radish and Green Onion and even Roasted Radishes!

Hope to see you at the market!  Hi mom!

Farmer Kim
